Dennis Ross was THE middle-east expert in the state department for quite some time. He wasspecial mid-east coordinator in the Clinton administration and director for policy planning in the state department under president George W Bush. He was one of the main forces behind the peace process of the 1990s, and still devotes much of his work to these issues.
