Before joining World ORT, Mr. Singer served as Chief Education Officer of the Southern Command for the IDF and spent twelve years with the Office of the Prime Minister in a number of senior posts. He has been the leading professional at ORT for the last ten years, spearheading the use of the latest technological and educational initiatives and has overseen a significant expansion of the organization’s outreach through new operational and fundraising activities as well as the creation of educational institutions in many countries.

What does it mean to have the same mission statement for 130 years? For Robert Singer, Director General and CEO of World ORT, it means think globally, act locally. Representing Jewish education and specialized job training, ORT branches out to help Jews and non-Jews in Israel, Europe, the former Soviet republics, Africa and the Americas. Singer hopes to have ORT lead Jewish efforts to not only educate, but to build a foundation for the future of education and Jewish continuity.
