Jane Eisner is currently the editor of the Jewish Daily Forward, a position she's held since June of 2008. Among many firsts in Jane's career, she was also an integral part of the team at the Philadelphia Inquirer for 25 years (where we heard her office was not what you'd expect - a man's restroom) holding many executive editorial and news positions from reporter to foreign correspondent, to editorial page editor and national columnist to name a few. In addition to high held positions, Eisner is also a proud mother, active columnist, and published author from her book "Taking Back the Vote: Getting American Youth Involved in our Democracy."
Jane Eisner - Forward Editor
Journalism is in Jane's blood. From the start of her career, curiosity has led her to examine the world and share her insights. Still it's obvious that talking about her tribe comes from a spacial place in her heart. Jane also has a historical record and tendency to pioneer as "first woman" to hold a high job position wherever she goes. Not to mention she doesn't forget to help push her fellow women to places where their voices may also be heard. Here's a look at the number one person in American Jewish Journalism.
