Israeli born Michal Rubin is an up and coming international photographer, currently based in NY. She has produced work for a number of high profile American and British magazines, and her pictures have already been exhibited on both sides of the Atlantic.

What is it about light? Michal Rubin's grandfather, the famous Israeli painter Reuven Rubin, was struck by the light when he came to Israel in the early 20th century, from the darkness of Eastern Europe. His granddaughter continues this drive to capture light, however more as a tool to evoke feeling and convey intimacy. Michal shares with us this quest, and how it often drives her both towards and away from her homeland, Israel.
