The HESEG Foundation provides full academic scholarships and living expenses to former Lone Soldiers from all over the world who have completed their service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and have chosen to make Israel their home.

10:30   "Jewish Education New Media Projects" (English Panel)
A look into cutting-edge, innovative Jewish education projects. From online source generators, to live Web shiurim and reinventing Torah learning, the discussion will revolve around the intricate uses of New media to enable users to explore Jewish ideas in ways that were impossible until recent years.

          

"Cutting-Edge Learning Technologies of Today" (Hebrew Panel)
As the latest learning technologies take their time to reach the Jewish parts of the Web, we thought it would be of interest to take a peek into what lies ahead - and yet, is still available today.The challenges and opportunities of using virtual worlds and games in education will also be demonstrated and discussed.

12:00   "Evolution of Jewish Media Formats" (Hebrew Panel)

"The Medium is the message" (Mcluhan, 1964) puts the evolution of  Jewish thought in an interesting light. As we went from Oral Torah to Written Torah, what changes can we expect as we move further and further to a digital interactive version of Torah? After looking at the "New Jerusalem Talumd" we will discuss possible directions.

          

"Teaching Jews in Cyberspace & Building learning communities" (English Panel)
How do we combine technology and the tools of today with creating stronger local / Web / global communities? What do those things mean and what can we expect of them? Here we will take a deeper look into learning  groups which are based on the use of  technology to connect people and thoughts.
