"Inside Look at Israeli Media" - LIVE Discussion Panel

Israel continues to be shone in a negative light via international media; Leadel and partners hope to bring some ‘new light’ to this ongoing problem, straight from original media sources, their staff.

A panel of expert media professionals meets to discuss and debate Israeli Media and its main issues and challenges in today’s complex world.  The panel will take place Thursday, May 20 at 11:30 Israel Time in front of a live audience at the IDC Herzliya Campus plus simultaneous Web broadcast to thousands of global viewers.

General focus and discussion topics will be moderated by Leah Stern, IDC faculty member and former English TV news anchor in Israel.  Leah will lead the discussion to answer the following questions:

- Does media bias against Israel really exist or is it just a simple "blame game?"

- Do people really want to stop hearing about Israel through the framework of the conflict?

- Does living in a democratic society with free press help or hurt Israel?

- How do visiting journalists in Israel view the current situation?

- How do visiting journalists' opinions about Israel evolve over time?

Panelists:

Arad Nir, Head of Foreign News Desk and International Commentator, Channel 2 News, Israel
David Horovitz, Editor-in-Chief, The Jerusalem Post
Marcus Sheff, Executive Director, The Israel Office, The Israel Project
